Planning & Preparing a Pitch (P3,M2,U21)

Original Pitch-

For my first pitch I presented my proposal on a prezzi to show my ideas visually. The purpose of my pitch is to gain feedback from peers to allow me to present my final pitch to the best standard, while meeting client requirements.

Feedback-
Following my pitch, I got given lots of positive feedback but in order to improve for my final pitch I have taken these pointers in order to develop my final pitch successfully;

- 13-20 age range is said to be quite wide - not specific
- Change of price - as the original is £4.50 so is a huge saving for subscription to be £23.99 (huge saving) - 4.50 x 12 = £54
- USP should be on it's own
- Specify gender to be more focussed
- Too much text - cut down so it is not too much writing (boring)

Improved Pitch- Here is my pitch with changes from my feedback

  Improvements made:
- Minimised the text on each section so it is more engaging for audience
- Changed age range to lower (13-18)to minimised the gap (more specific for pop magazine)
- Made USP a title on its own
- Changed price of subscription to higher (still cheaper then paying for a copy each month)
- Specified gender to more girl centered

Client questions:

1) Are there other more useful locations, other than a newsagent, where you can sell your magazine?

Bars, night-clubs, music venues and also billboards are effective locations for selling the magazine as the fans of the music tend to visit these areas/ pass by . It increases the amount of purchases of the magazine as the audience may see the magazine posters and be interested in buying as it cashes the eye of the passers by.

2) How are you looking to promote your magazine different to the others?

My main competition for magazines are; WE <3 POP, SHOUT promote their magazines with adverts however do not get famous pop artists to promote the magazine and therefore will be a unique selling point for my magazine to have this feature when marketing my magazine.

3)How could you develop your magazine further in the future?

To develop my magazine further, I would put in place exclusive meet and greet available for people that purchase the magazine.

4)How am I going to appeal to females but also slightly to the male gender?

The way in which I’m going to make my magazine appeal to females by my colour scheme being mostly appealing for females (using bright pink, purple) but also use male pop artists to also appeal to males.

5) Why have you chosen to include a QR code?

I have chosen to include a QR codes because I feel as though it is a smart way of combining both the print and online option of my magazine to engage the audience to use their phones to unlock exclusive features. As my chosen target audience are highly reliant on social media, I have chosen to do this to link both online and pitch. The idea of a QR code is only recently becoming familiar amongst magazines, and therefore by me using it it allows a unique selling point for my magazine .

6) Is there enough content for the magazine to be out every month?

Yes, as Pop is a very popular genre in north london there is alot of new and upcoming stories ,music and news surrounding pop artists and therefore will be packed full of interesting content.

7) Why have you chosen to price your magazine at £4.50

I have chosen to price my magazine at the price as I have looked at the competion pop magazines and have seen that they charge the similar amount for their magazines. SHOUT magazine- £3.95.
